History: She was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for her. It may also be what makes her so good at details. Her mother worked until she suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. She had to support her now crippled mother and took her mother's old job. She's since become an addict/alcoholic.

Personality: He has a massive crush on the younger sibling of the Shepherd who has hired him part-time. He is often prim and proper but will on occasion tell either really disgusting or offensive jokes, which seem out of character.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. Thomas was born on a far northern plains where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Shepherd. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Barkeep. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

Personality: A rambunctious noisy drunk he knows how to make people feel guilty. Shágflak enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for his love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: Shágflak was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: She barks her statements quickly and with little fuss. She prefers small words and is at her heart utilitarian. She loves being with her children and actually smiles when they are around. She would do anything for them. She dislikes her ex a great deal.

History: Her father raised her in a mountain cabin. Being born in the south, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the south for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way north. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.
