Thieves' Cant: a secret mix of dialect, jargon, and code that allows you to hide messages in seemingly normal conversation. Only others that knows thieves' cant understand such messages. It takes four times longer to convey than it does to speak the same idea plainly. You also understand secret signs in the cant.

If she ever called on me, especially using the mate to the ear-ring I hold, then I would have to answer that call.
Too rash and flighty for the calm forest glades, I made my way out into the world and found a place in a travelling troupe. Learning to tumble, and honing my performance, and to live by my wits, while often being untrusted by most folk as light-fingered. (This was admittedly often quite true.)
On turning 22, my wiry frame suddenly blossomed, and I discovered that I was both appealing, and the joy of indulging in that appeal with attractive followers in my audience. But my behaviour has become too raucous and my theiving too blatant for the troupe to keep me: so I've struck out on my own before they could kick me out.
For the last six months I've been making my way from town to town, inveigling myself into the salons of nobles, having a romp, and then making off with their valuables.
