Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic man, Varis's first love is himself. His second love is also himself. He has a taste for the finer things and spends a great deal of money on luxuries, some more exotic than others.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Varis was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the dire rats.
