History: Peren hails from a village terrorized by goblins. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
