Through the years after Gennal was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Gennal's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his father's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered giants who tried to eat his hand. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
