History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Arannis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Personality: He resents people who mock his appearance or him, so he has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. Halimath is a bit of a follower. Usually he is manipulated by his sisters into helping them out, but recently he has become more of a free agent.

History: His arcane talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Miller. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.
