History: He was born at the edge of vast island. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his father's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered goblins who tried to eat his hand. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge

He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.
