History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. In his 10th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Laucian alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and many drow want him driven away
