Description: A well shaped man just over fifty, he tends to wear a black poncho over his likewise colored trousers and shirt. His brown hair is greasy and uncared for. His face is scarred and worn.

Personality: He is fixated on the number 4. He counts his steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. He seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. He cannot deal with unfamiliar people for more than a few minutes at a time and if they persist he will grow angry at them.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Through the years after Thervan was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Thervan's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and a deep hatred of dire rats

Personality: He shows great sympathy to all travelers. He's the type to buy drinks and listen to their stories. He is submissive, is generally bored by everything, but will take part in whatever people ask of him. He is by nature obliging.

History: He was born at the edge of vast plains. His father took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark.

Personality: He does not believe in betrayal or weakness as things to be tolerated. He spends most of his days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There he gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Berrian was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered singing. When he grew older, he became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. He began work as a mercenary for hire. He would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

Motivation: Obtaining odd cultural Elven artifacts is his passion; and he's looking for his big break
