He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. Cursed with vampirism at a very young age, Vanuath has worked very hard to control his curse. He came across an abandoned tomb where he found a relic that called out to him. After picking it up he was cursed by vampirism.
