History: Born in the east to a Spice Merchant, Rolen learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He has worked as a Spice Merchant like his mother before him.

He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He has had some formal singing training, and achieved minor success. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
