Personality: He fancies himself a trickster and likes to rely on his wits to carry the day. He cares for his older siblings and likes to be recognized by them. He loves his children and doesn't want them to worry about him. He loves to share his singing with anyone who is interested.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. Through the years after Heian was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Heian's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.

Description: Relatively heavier built than your average man, he is not imposing. He wears loose pants and a collared shirt complete with sweater beneath his coat. His moppish black hair is in a traditional bowl cut. He is missing an eye and his face is severely sunburned. His one remaining eye shines gray.

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He loves being with his children and actually smiles when they are around. He would do anything for them. He dislikes his ex a great deal.

History: A child with a great deal of poetry talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother.
