History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Berrian was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: Korfel wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Wizard, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... His actions favor neither the good nor the evil, as he answers to a power that mortal men fail to acknowledge.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. After coming to the age of reason, Korfel took it upon himself to study the necromantic arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.
