History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Carrie was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Varis embodies much of what other species detest in the Elves. He is a big fan of imagination and believes people should spend more time reading and writing.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Through the years after Varis was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Varis's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
