Personality: He is a Mercenary first and foremost. He believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Personality: He is shy and timid. He has not had much interaction with people and is skittish around them. A true patriot, Theriatis would do anything for his country. He is fiercely protective of his fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Guard arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

After coming to the age of reason, Varis took it upon himself to study the divine arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland.
