Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Beiro was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the dire rats.

His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the mountains due to the painful memories there. Berrian took refuge in the old dungeon and found the beat up sickle and armor he uses now. He has since lost track of the people in his past.
