History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Aelar grew up listening to his father's many stories. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Aelar grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Aelar. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.
