History: Naal lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister; and to reunite with his absent mother
