History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Nothing but the best is good enough for him.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Mindartis grew up listening to his mother's many stories. He moved out south to avoid the crime he committed. As of late he has set up a hidden staging nest where he ambushes people he hires for escort.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he wants to meet his childhood hero

History: Uthemar hails from a village terrorized by orcs. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a orcs raid, leaving Uthemar alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Theren hails from a village terrorized by illithids. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
