He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: Arannis was born the youngest of three triplets. Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, illithids burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying west to reunite his family. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Arannis was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.
