History: Born to a Banker, his father struggled to pay the bills. He became part of the deadliest team of assassins in recent memory. A botched job caused the group to be disbanded. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help

Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
