History: He was born at the edge of vast island. Aelar liked to wander the woods near his home when he was young, something he still likes to do at least once a week. He never liked modest clothing or shoes, so he would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and he developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. He used his abilities to travel the world and help people.

History: Azaki was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Sorcerer, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Sorcerer in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He found a children's book about a Elf Sorcerer who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Layabout born in the past three hundred years. He is a big fan of imagination and believes people should spend more time reading and writing.

History: Born in the north to a Layabout, Lamlis learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. Like his father and his brother before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Layabout. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
