History: Born in the east to a Map Maker, Nim learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He worked as a nervous Map Maker and found it very stressful. He was granted arcane powers by his dying brother.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother; and an old rival family wants him found

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage.
