History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. In his 15th year, his parents were killed by a orcs raid, leaving Rolen alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. He always admired martial-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.
