History: When he was but 8 years old his parents immigrated from the north. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Rolen grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Rolen. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

History: He comes from a rich eastern family. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
