Personality: A deeply religious man he believes everything happens for a reason. The war was a terrible time for him, and Nim does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: Nim hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He loathes his own lifestyle.

History: Born in the east to a Bellfounder, Varis learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. His father was very strict, and drilled into him lessons on being the perfect gentleman. He's also a talented Map Maker, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He always admired arcane-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
