History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. Paelias was born on a far western plains where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Weaver. Recently a tribe of giants attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Paelias fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. A serious injury left his mother unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it

Apothecary work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He married young, but lost his spouse to illithids. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.
