It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: He can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. He has a hair trigger and will fly into rage over the tiniest perceived slights.

History: Born in the west to a Sellsword, Theren learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

History: He was born into a rich family. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

Motivation: Obtaining odd cultural Elven artifacts is his passion; and meet up once more with his childhood friend

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Layabout. Recently the stress of being a Layabout has made it difficult for him to sleep.
