His father taught him the rudiments of the Tanner arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Lamlis grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Lamlis. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.
