History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Guard arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Rael grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Rael. After months of barely getting by, Rael managed to ambush a major caravan with a load of valuables. Instantly wealthy, he made his way to the capital under a new identity.
