History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

He prefers to carry a quarterstaff, but if one is not available he will default to his greatsword, and is pretty ugly. His red hair is well kept and his bushy mustache is tapered upwards at the ends. His face is feral with sharp distinguishing features. His spectacle hidden eyes are a deep blue.

Personality: He is always cheerful, even with a hangover, and is always willing to go through all sorts of trouble to help his friends. He considers everything a fun event and doesn't hold grudges. He can't help but pocket interesting objects he comes across

History: Theriatis was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Theriatis grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Theriatis. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: He has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day.

Description: A well shaped man just over fifty, he prefers to wear pastel pants and tee shirts. His long black hair is drawn into a two foot long braid. His gray eyes dart around the room hyper actively observing anyone and anything.

Personality: He cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with his opinion, he thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, he can get violently argumentative. Heian is a bit of a follower. Usually he is manipulated by his brothers into helping them out, but recently he has become more of a free agent.

History: Heian lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He has had some formal poetry training, and achieved minor success. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
