Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Shipwright they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. Personality: He cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with his opinion, he thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, he can get violently argumentative. He cannot resist a sob story and will often dote over anyone who has one.

History: He was born into a rich family. He dropped out of school to support his sick father, and resented it. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Stableman they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Sellsword, and he later adopted a second son.

Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes dire rats are coming to abduct people. He is submissive, is generally bored by everything, but will take part in whatever people ask of him. He is by nature obliging.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Varis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
