Personality: He can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. He is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes him no end of embarrassment.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Heian was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Heian's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Heian fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when drow swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Rolen alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: To prove his worth to the world; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions
