He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the goblins.

Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. The war was a terrible time for him, and Arannis does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Motivation: He loathes his own lifestyle; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
