His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Vanuath and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: He likes to be helpful to his clients. He likes to prescribe proper advice to his clients. He is often prim and proper but will on occasion tell either really disgusting or offensive jokes, which seem out of character.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. A gifted student he started as a Bookbinder, but he got bored and became a Mercenary. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

Motivation: To be a Bookbinder again.

Personality: His voice, at times compared to that of a Nymph, lambasts those who consider themselves "civilized" with snide, belittling remarks; the subtle growl he speaks with growing louder in doing so, one can find it most pronounced, despite the otherwise natural purity of his tone. He can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. Cursed with a spirit at a very young age, Ahvain has worked very hard to control his curse. He was granted martial powers by his dying brother.

The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help
