History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He's also a talented Marshal, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: Many brigands want him driven away; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Ahvain grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Ahvain. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.
