A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it.
