He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He would ruin relationships and cause injury. He was reprimanded several times before being given his current form and forced to learn humility.

However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the brigands.

History: Theren lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. While he appears to be a normal Elf, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He has since lost track of the people in his past.
