History: Varis lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

History: He was born in the west. Like his father and his brother before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Scribe. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Description: He wears an amalgamation of clothes and depending on the season will wear more layers of the continuing hodge podge. He carries with him a set of quarterstaffs, each one with a jet on the hilt. He only wears one on his belt and the other on his back. His hair is silver and curly. His blue eyes show the wear and tear of someone lonely with a great burden to carry.

Personality: He loves justice and goodness and right action. Anyone who does not fulfill this criteria perfectly will no doubt get a lecture from him. He is the most sanctimonious self-righteous Elf in existence. He spends most of his days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There he gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: He was raised in a mountains tribe. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Elven companion (his 'brother'). He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: To be a Layabout again; and he doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes
