However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the gnolls.

History: Lamlis was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Lamlis grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food.
