When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He found a children's book about a Elf Sorcerer who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Aelar was horrified and prayed that his father was alright.
