He was granted necromantic powers by his dying sister.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by drow, and he desires to right it; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal

History: Mindartis was born in the east. At a young age he loved to build and create. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind.
