History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal
