To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Varis. Being a Engraver kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

His hair is long and chestnut with streaks of auburn, and is pulled back with small grey clips. His beard is auburn, braided, and well cared for. He wears large thick round spectacles.

Personality: He is extraordinarily passive and rarely speaks, let alone speaks his mind. He tends to be very friendly, and is drawn to music, the smells of food and wine, and out-door festivals.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. Through the years after Theren was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Theren's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.

Motivation: Wants to work out more often.
