His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He has worked as a Cartwright like his father before him.

His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

He does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for him. He lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature dagger.

Motivation: He is unsatisfied with his job; and sabotage a competitor
