History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. A gifted student he started as a Miner, but he got bored and became a Sage. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Personality: He has schizophrenia that causes him to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. He has no love for corruption and racketeering and views those as crimes of the highest magnitude.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and wants to raise his children well

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. At a young age his mother died while driving off some giants. His father being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in pickaxe use. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Arannis was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.
