At a young age his mother died while driving off some brigands. His father being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in shield use. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Fortune-teller hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.
