Azaki grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Azaki. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and he feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Elves in Varis's homeland. Varis decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and to end his boredom
