He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Elven companion (his 'brother'). He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of specialists.

He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has dedicated himself to building a better village for his children.
