History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.
